Earl Phillip Clayton
Earl Phillip Clayton, 90, of Rector, passed from this life on Monday February 23, 2015 at the Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was born on February 27, 1924, in Boydsville to the late Edward and Myrtle (Grissom) Clayton. He was a member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ in Rector and served our country in the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry of the United States Army.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Louise (Garrett) Clayton; two brothers, Cecil and J.C. Clayton and one sister, Arles Reed.
He is survived by two sons, Phil and Cynthia Clayton of Houston, Tex. and Mark and Patti Clayton of Fort Worth, Tex.; one daughter, Carolyn and Joe McKeel of Brookland, Ark.; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 28, 2015 at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral services followed with Bro. Ken Roden and Bro. Art Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Clayton Hill, Matt Hill, Jared Clayton, Matthew Clayton, John McKeel, Rickey Holt, Jason Cribbs and Garrett Clayton.
Honorary Pallbearers were Terry Wyatt, Charles Garrett and the U.S.A Honor Guard. Interment was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
