Norma Dean Jenkins
Norma Dean (Woodward) Jenkins, 89, of Marmaduke, passed from this life on Monday February 16, 2015, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. She was born on March 11, 1925, in Clay County, to the late Ira Gilbert and Angie (Trantham) Woodward. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marmaduke and in her spare time enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, T. L. Jenkins; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Larry Jenkins of Paragould; three daughters, Marian Dean Gonnsen of Ballwin, Mo., Brenda Kay Jenkins of Kennett, Mo. and Karen Lenderman and Terry of Paragould; one brother, Edward Lavern "Buddy" Woodward; one sister, Glenda Gambrel; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Bro. Eddie Harris and Bro. Billy Vanderbilt officiating. Visitation was held beginning at 11 a.m., and continued until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to First United Methodist Church of Marmaduke, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Arkansas Children's Hospital or any other charity of the giver's choice.
