Delbert Steven Cox
Delbert Steven Cox, 66, of Piggott, Ark., died March 11, 2015, at the Piggott Community Hospital. He was born September 2, 1948, at the Piggott Hospital, the son of Delbert Lee Cox and Bertha Mae (Neely) Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Cox and one sister, Jeanie Cox Myers. He is survived by three sisters, Betty Parks of Piggott, Barbara Welsh of Peoria, Ariz. and Geraldine Blades of Mesa, Ariz.
After graduating from Piggott High School, Steve served in the Army from 1967 to 1978 as a Weapons Support Radar Technician. Following an honorable discharge, he worked many years at Texas Instruments and then the University of Texas maintaining computer systems. In 2001 he retired and moved back to Piggott where he stayed with his father, Delbert Cox, until he passed away in 2003. Steve then lived in Paragould, until suffering a stroke in 2013, after which he returned to Piggott to be near family.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday March 17, at the Piggott Cemetery, officiated by Brother Rondal Richardson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Piggott.
