Deborah Turner, 62, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.
She was born on October 13, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo., and was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Aslan) Varvel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Varvel and Helen (Aslan) Varvel; one brother, David Varvel and one grandchild, William Brian Shaw.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Shaw and wife Laura of Piggott, Ark. and Brian Shaw and wife Elizabeth of Piggott Ark.; one daughter, Kerri Dees and husband Jason of Piggott, Ark.; eight brothers, Ronald Varvel of Puxico Mo.; Gary Carlton of Houston, Tex., Freddy Hall of Little Rock, Ark., Rocky Carlton of Paragould, Ark., Poncho Carlton of Houston, Tex., Todd Carlton of Paragould, Ark., Taggert Carlton of Houston, Tex. and James Carlton of Lake City, Ark.; four sisters, Barbara Allen of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Robin Goforth of Pocahontas, Ark., Tammy Mekan of Paragould, Ark. and Melissa Carson of Paragould, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday March 19, 2015, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Etheridge officiating. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott Ark. Pallbearers are Brian Shaw, Richard Shaw, Rick Shaw, Ronnie Varvel, Larry Massey, Josh Poe and Jason Dees. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday March 18, 2015, at the funeral home.
