Leddell Milburn, 89, of Rector, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
Born September 6, 1925, in Boydsville, Mr. Milburn was a retired farmer and member of the Boydsville Church of Christ. He was the last surviving soldier from World War II in the Rector area and had fought on the front lines in Germany.
Mr. and Mrs. Milburn were married Jan. 30, 1950, and had just celebrated their 65th anniversary. He was active with CB radios and had the nickname "Overalls".
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Milburn of the home; two sons, Marvin Milburn and Alan Milburn (Sharon); one grandchild, Westley Milburn, all of Rector; and one sister, Virginia Louise Guthery of Fairview Heights, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Stella Milburn and two brothers, Robert Lavon Milburn and Sonny Bill Milburn.
Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 27, at Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 28, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel of Rector, with John Bradshaw and Jerry Cook officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector.
Jim Nunnery, Eugene Yancy, Freddie Herren, Johnny McDaniel, James McCord and Larry Wilson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Groves, Gary Loveless and Todd Milburn.
