Jackie C. Gott
Mr. Jackie C. Gott, 83, of McDougal, Ark., was born near Pollard, in Clay County, Ark., on November 19, 1931, the son of the late Mr. Sam and Mrs. Lula (Hillyer) Gott.
Jack passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Corning Therapy and Nursing Center in Corning, Ark., surrounded by family and friends.
He was a veteran of the PEC U.S. Army 1st Armored Division Military Police. He enjoyed gardening, lawn care, going to church and supporting different children's organizations. He was a member of the Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Boydsville for many years.
He and his wife, Cathy Gott, shared 52 wonderful years together. They were married on April 28, 1962.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Clay Gott, George G. Gott and Benjamin D. Gott and one sister, Novella Gott Parrish.
Survivors are his wife, Cathy (VanGordon) Gott of the home; one daughter, Freda (Gott) Smith and husband Tim of Dothan, Ala.; one son, Clyde Earl Gott of Paragould, Ark.; one sister, Vivian (Gott) Russom of Michigan; two brothers, Kennith W. Gott of Wisconsin and Evert L. Gott and wife Pansy of Missouri; a special daughter-in-law, Barbara (Odle) Gott of Paragould, Ark.; three grandchildren, Jordan Allen Gott of Navarre, Kan., Amanda (Smith) Lewis and husband Jimmy of Dothan, Ala. and Megan Gott, and friend Garrett Chandler, of Paragould, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Colton Chandler of Paragould, Ark., and Jacob Lewis of Dothan, Ala. along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. David Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Mars Hill Cemetery in Crockett, Ark. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home.
