Willow Dean Wheeler
Willow Dean Wheeler, 84, of Paragould, formerly of Rector passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday April 25, 2015, at Greene Acres Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 5, 1930, in Rector, to the late Orville Lawrence and Dora (Gore) Lawrence Beckner. She was a beloved long-time member of the Rector First General Baptist Church where she was involved in many activities. Dean was united in marriage on Nov. 30, 1947 to J.E. Wheeler in Rector, and in her spare time enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, sewing, babysitting and spending time with her family and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Dora Lawrence; her step father, Cleo Beckner; her loving husband, J.E. Wheeler; two sons, Ronnie and Ricky Wheeler; four brothers, Maurice, James, Jimmy and Earl Lawrence; one grandson, Adam Wheeler and one great- grandson, Thomas Smart
Dean is survived by three sons, Bruce Wheeler and Jackie of Jonesboro, Dennis Wheeler and Peggy of Rector and Scott Wheeler of Paragould; two daughters, Deborah Rogers and Odell of Walnut Ridge and Belinda Foster and Dwayne of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Joe Nell Hummert of Mascoutah, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday April 28, at the Rector First General Baptist Church. Her celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 29, at the Rector First General Baptist Church with Bro. Marston Carpenter and Bro. Brad Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector under the direction of Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
