Dorothy Louella Hartwick
Dorothy Louella Hartwick, 84, of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with our Lord on Monday April 20, 2015. She was born January 21, 1931, to Edith and Lonnie Smith in Hot Springs, Ark. Dorothy was married to Dayron J. Hartwick on Jan. 13, 1975. She was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock for many, many years and later became a member of First United Methodist Church, in Sherwood, where she spent many years working in the church daycare. There she adored working with the children, many who lovingly called her Grandma anytime they saw her out somewhere.
Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was generous with her time and her love.
Her greatest joy was her family. She loved to cook and care for all of them. Dorothy always greeted everyone with a warm smile and usually a delicious homemade meal or dessert.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Dayron; three brothers, Troy, Lonnie and Charles Smith, and a sister, Evangeline Wells, all of North Little Rock, and a granddaughter, Taylor Phelps of Charleston, Ark.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Dian Johnson and husband Jamey, of Springdale, Ark., Lisa Conley and husband, Marty of Pollard, and her devoted son, Charles (Chuck) Morgan of North Little Rock; two step-sons, Bill Morgan and wife Pat of Alexander, Ark. and Lynn Hartwick of North Little Rock; two step-daughters, Nancy Morgan of Alexander, Ark. and Linda Curran and husband Mike of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
