Bailey Bridges' bloop single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Sammi Henry with the winning run, lifting Marmaduke to a thrilling 6-5 victory over Buffalo Island Central in the finals of the 2A-3 District Softball Tournament Monday afternoon at Monette.

Henry led off the seventh with a ringing double to left field. Brittany Banning followed with a single, sending Henry to third. Lady Mustang pitcher Madison Greathouse, who came in to relieve injured starter Lexie Ray to begin the inning, fanned the next two batters before Bridges connected on an 0-2 pitch, delivering the game winning hit.

Marmaduke advanced to the finals with a 15-0 three-inning shellacking of Riverside in Saturday afternoon's semifinals. Henry hurled a perfect game, striking out six of the nine batters she faced. Henry also went 2-3 at the plate and drove in four runs. Lentz and Banning had three hits apiece while Kaitlyn Gilliam and Kennedy contributed two hits each.
