Mohawk Youth Basketball Camp Held

The first week of June an elementary basketball camp was held at Piggott High School, for kids entering the third through sixth grades. Organizers report a good crowd on hand for this year's camp, with 40 campers taking part. The camp was held by the Mohawk coaching staff with assistance from several PHS players.

Winners in the various games and competitions were as follows--the hot shot champs were Maggie Rabjohn for the third and fourth grade girls and Alyssa Manor for the fifth and sixth grade girls. Meanwhile, Lawson Tompkins was first among third and fourth grade boys and Cooper Rabjohn was first among the fifth and sixth grade boys.

The obstacle course winner for the third and fourth grade girls was Zoie Reynolds, while Haley Seal was tops among the fifth and sixth grade girls. Winner among the third and fourth grade boys was David Lewis, and Cooper Rabjohn also took first in this competition for the fifth and sixth grade boys.

In the free throw competition, first in the third and fourth grade girls went to Maggie Reynolds, while Alyssa Manor was first among fifth and sixth grade girls. The first place finisher for the third and fourth grade boys was William Lucas, while Cooper Rabjohn was first among the fifth and sixth grade boys for his third win.

The winners in the dribble tag competition included Macy Powell for the third and fourth grade girls while Katelyn Robertson was first among the fifth and sixth grade girls. Meanwhile, the boys winners were Cooper Rabjohn and Nate Brantley.

At the conclusion of the camp the coaches handed out their defensive awards, with Zoie Reynolds winning for the third and fourth grade girls and Haley Seal named as the winner in the fifth and sixth grade girls division. Meanwhile, the winner in the third and fourth grade boys was Londyn Morton, while Brandon Seal was the winner in the boys fifth and sixth grade division.

And, the final award handed out was for this year's outstanding camper, with Emmah Davis earning the honor for the third and fourth grade girls, while Emma Langley was recognized from among the fifth and sixth grade girls. Outstanding campers for the boys included Conner Jordan for the third and fourth graders and Aiden Baggett for the fifth and sixth graders.

The camp was held Monday and Tuesday, June 1 and 2, at the Piggott High School gym.
