Betty Jane (Roybal) Pruett

Betty Jane (Roybal) Pruett, 71, of Las Vegas, Nev., and formerly of Rector, passed from this life on May 13, 2015, at her home with her family at her side. She was born May 21, 1944, in Fontana, Calif., to the late Fermin and Rose Roybal. She loved to spend time with her family, and working in her backyard and on her hill. She also loved traveling and hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Bishop of Rector, and a step-son, Terry Pruett.

She is survived by her husband, Phil Pruett, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fermin and Beth Pruett and Michael Pruett, all of Las Vegas; a step-son, Phil Pruett of California; a brother, Rudy Roybal of Pueblo, Colo.; five sisters, Patsy Gonzales of Monte, Colo., Carol (Claud) Torres of Strasburg, Colo., Darla (Max) Sims of Monte Vista, Colo., Rose (Loyd) Valasquez of Fountain, Colo., Shirley (John) Sanchez of Pueblo, Colo. and a sister-in-law, Pat (Jerry) Bishop of Woodbine, Ga. She was also survived by four much-loved grandchildren, Shane Pruett, Tera Pruett, Amanda Pruett and Jordan Pruett along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of her wonderful life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at the Pruett family home in Las Vegas.
