Howard D. Garner
Howard D. Garner, age 73, of Exeter, Mo., passed away at Cassville Health and Rehab, in Cassville, Mo. Mr. Garner, son of Lester and Hallie (Bowling) Garner, was born on April 2, 1942 in Greenway, Ark. On November 20, 1987, he was united in marriage to Ruby Merrett in Florida. They moved to Exeter where they have resided for the past 27 years. Howard worked at Tyson Foods in Monett in the maintenance department and served in the National Guard for 16 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, of Exeter; five sons, Ashley Garner and his wife Amy, of Cassville, Tony Rupe of VanCleave, Miss., Ronnie Rupe, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Charles Rupe and his wife Kelli, of Rhoadesville, Va. and Kevin Purl, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Kim Buteaux and her husband James, of New Iberia, La. and Debra and her husband Yogi Staples, of Exeter; two brothers Doyle and Don Garner; one sister, Mary Hardin and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Howard was preceded in death by two sons, Leslie and Charles Purl and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. 890, Cassville, Mo.
