HOF Golf Tournament Set
Labor Day is fast approaching and with it comes many activities that reunite old friends. One popular event is the annual Rector High School Hall of Fame golf tournament. This is a major fundraiser for the foundation and is based on fun and fellowship.
The tournament committee is excited to announce St. Bernards Clopton Clinic will continue its support by being the title sponsor for this year's event. Last year's tournament was played in honor of the late Dr. Owen H. Clopton Jr., who was a faithful supporter of the RHSHOF.
The foundation's board has approved renaming the tournament the Dr. Owen H. Clopton Jr. RHSHOF Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of Dr. Clopton's legacy and St. Bernards Clopton Clinic's commitment to a continued sponsorship.
Tournament format is a four-man scramble and will be limited to the first 18 teams. The tournament will be Friday, Sept. 4, at the Kennett Country Club. Cost is $200 per team.
Tee time has changed to 10:30 a.m. and the clubhouse opens at 9 for registration. The Cougars football season will begin the same night with an away game. The tournament committee wishes to accommodate anyone who wants to participate in the golf outing and still make it in time to support the team.
Golfers may contact Michele Haley at (870) 240-5064 or Michael Lindsey at (870) 240-3257 to sign up or with any questions. "Remember, teams are limited and spots are already being filled, so don't delay to assure your team a spot," a spokesman said. "RHSHOF would like to thank all the players in advance, as well as sponsors who make this event a success."
