Lela Maxine Phillips
Lela Maxine Phillips, 80, of Piggott, Ark., passed away August 9, 2015, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
She was born on May 9, 1935, in Piggott, and was the daughter of the late Herbert Lang and Loreties Busby Lang Hudspeth.
She was united in marriage to Homer Harold Phillips on Oct. 1, 1951, and to this union seven children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 26, 2009; her parents; her sisters, Barbara Wheeler and Arlene Poole and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include seven children, Vickie Bratton and husband Rodney of North Little Rock, Ark., Anita Bellers and husband Ted of Malden, Mo., Terry Phillips and wife Rhonda of Piggott, Ark., Jerry Phillips and wife Trina of Corning, Ark., Debbie Jackson and husband Randy of McDougal, Ark., Karen Millikan and husband Jack of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Garry Phillips of Boydsville, Ark.; 14 grandchildren, Chris, Shannon, Nathan, Read, Kelley, Jennifer, Shelley, Layla, Jennifer, Trey, Chelsea, Shannon, Shala and Kimberly; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Geraldene Evans and husband Jack of Piggott; two nieces, Tracy Cole and Amy Rucker and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Johnnie Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark. Pallbearers are Terry Phillips, Jerry Phillips, Garry Phillips, Jack Millikan, Rodney Bratton, Randy Jackson and Teddy Bellers. Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron Crouch, Read Phillips, Nathan Millikan, Shannon Bellers, Dillon Bellers, Brandon Bellers, Sky Wright, Britt Wright and Elijah Bellers. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the arrangements.
