Junior Harris, 86, of Piggott, Ark., passed away August 14, 2015, at his home in Piggott. He was born on April 8, 1929, and was the son of the late James Homer and Lola (Redd) Harris.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Vaughn on March 5, 1951, and to this union four children were born.
His wife, Barbara Harris preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edward Harris and nephew, Larry Gene Harris.
Survivors include his four children, Marvin Harris of London, Ark., Beverly Scott and husband Alan of Piggott, Donna Poe and husband Randy of Pollard and Janice Ingram of Rochester, Mich.; five grandchildren, Thomas Harris, James Fry and wife Amanda, Jessica Cossey and husband Lee, and Craig, Kristen and Ben Scott; five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Will, Lane, Logan, Lathan, Wyatt and one "on-the-way"; a sister, Virginia Long of Piggott, grand dog, Missy and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray, Bill Waterman and Jessie George officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Benny Fry, Walter Rau, Richie Culver, Chris Ingram, Craig Scott and Ben Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Culver and Cody Culver. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, and continued until service time, at the funeral home.
