Former Rector Man Arrested in Harrisburg Murder

The Poinsett County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in connection with the death of Jefferson Scott Crawford, 46, of Harrisburg, who was found dead at his home on Aug. 8.

According to Sheriff Larry Mills, the sheriff's office, along with Arkansas State Police, arrested Joshua Mason Farmer, 33, of Harrisburg on Thursday night, Aug. 20. Farmer is being charged with murder in the first degree and possession of firearms by a certain person. At a probable cause hearing Friday morning, Farmer's bond was set at $250,000 cash only, and he was given a Sept. 25 court date by District Judge Ron Hunter.

Sheriff Mills said the investigation remains active, and they are awaiting results of the evidence from the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.
