Betty Sue Owen
Betty Sue Owen, 82, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
She was born July 24, 1933, in Pollard, Ark., and was the daughter of the late John Leonard and Mary Hazel (Moore) Evans.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Owen on June 29, 1951, and to this union four children were born.
Betty was a longtime member of the South Thornton Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Owen, on June 8, 2006; her parents and her stillborn child, Diana Lynn Owen.
Survivors include her children, Johnny Owen and wife Dawn of Piggott, Carolyn Landrum and husband Sammy of Piggott and Judy Owen of Midlothian, Tex.; nine grandchildren, Joshua Owen, Sierra Owen, Adam Landrum, Daniel Landrum, Evan Neeley, Logan Landrum, Emily Isaguirre, Brandon Ledbetter and Alan Ledbetter; her great-grandchildren, Brooke and Beau Owen, Vivian, Pierce, and Reid Landrum, Annaleigh Neeley, Juliana and Emma Isaguirre, and Olyve and Brandon Ledbetter, Jr.; a brother, James Leonard Evans and wife Gail of May Pearl, Tex.; a sister, Mary Frances Harmon and husband Joe of Nashville, Ark. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4, in the South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, with Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Josh Owen, Alan Ledbetter, Brandon Ledbetter, Adam Landrum, Daniel Landrum and Logan Landrum. Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Isaguirre and Andy Neeley. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
