Johnny Mode, 78, of Rector, passed from this life on September 16, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on June 6, 1937, to the late J. W. and Hazel (Rowlett) Mode. He loved watching sports, especially the Cardinals, gardening and his daily visits to the coffee shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce Mode and one sister, Joy Lou Ward.
He is survived by two sons, Tony Mode and Thomas Mode; two daughters, Cheryl Neeley and Pam Wilson; seven grandchildren, Tanesha Gambling, Tara Hollis, Kelli Harmon, Leannan Mode, Brent Mode, Morgan Callahan and Matthew Wilson; five great- grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Mode of Paragould, Glen (Diane) Mode of Rector and Gary (Carol) Mode of Jonesboro; three sisters, Pat Paxton of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Lena Black of Cleveland, Tenn. and Ginger (Darrell) Shelton of Paragould along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept.19, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Services will follow at noon in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Rector with Bro. Brad Gilbert officiating. Burial is in the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House of Jonesboro.
