Storm System Leaves Widespread Flooding

The frontal system which dumped several inches of rainfall on the region moved eastward on Wednesday, replaced by sunny and very windy conditions.

But, heavy rains north of the region are also causing a rise in river levels, which aren't expected to crest for at least a few more days.

Flooding was also widespread in low-lying areas, making many rural roads impassable. In light of this everyone is reminded to never drive into a flooded area, as it is impossible to tell if culverts and other drains have washed-out. Remember the warning, "turn around, don't drown."

And remember, complete weather updates are available here on the CCTD website 24/7.
