Piggott Community Sharing Hearts Makes Donations
The board of directors of Piggott Community Sharing Hearts recently met and voted to donate money to both Piggott Elementary and Piggott High School to help meet students' needs at Christmas and throughout the school year.
Monday, Nov. 23, a special check presentation was held at PES, as board member Cary Wilson presented checks to Faith Conley, seventh and eighth grade counselor, and to Barbara Batey, PES counselor and Mona Scott, PES parent center coordinator.
Other board members on hand for the presentation were Danna Haywood, Kelli Malin and Mayor Jim Poole.
Piggott Community Sharing Hearts was founded three years ago with the expressed purpose of helping students in the Piggott School District. In the years since the organization has donated thousands of dollars to meet the needs of the students, touching many lives in the process.
The organization accepts tax-deductible donations, which may be given to any of the board members or dropped-off at Piggott State Bank. A spokesperson for the organization also noted donations in honor, or memory, of individuals are also acknowledged and appreciated.
