Donald Lynn Pickler
Donald Lynn Pickler, 68, died November 28, 2015, at his home in Rector, Ark. Don was born September 23, 1947, in Flint, Mich. He served in the Vietnam War as a lieutenant in the United States Army.
He moved to Rector in 1980 to help his parents run Pick's Pond catfish farm. He loved the natural beauty of Northeast Arkansas, playing the drums, working on cars and helping nurture the trees on his farm and in Rector's public parks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lindell and Lila Pickler.
Don is survived by his longtime companion, Darlene Bowers; a daughter Nedra Pickler, and her husband Eric Conner, of Washington, D.C. and a daughter, Anna Pickler of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Joy Moss and her husband John of Clarkesville, Ga.; a sister, Linda Robinson and her husband Sonny of Rector, Ark.; a brother, Roy Pickler of Elkhart, Ind., a sister, Carol Fournier of Grand Blanc, Mich.; his grandsons, Will and Quinn Conner and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Don's life will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, at the Rector Community Center. All are welcome to come and share their favorite memories of Don.
