Goliath Lives Up to Name

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

The Christmas holiday season of 2015 will long be remembered for Winter Storm Goliath, and the impact it had on the nation. Nearly 50 deaths are being blamed on the huge weather system, which spawned tornadoes and flooding, followed by blizzard and ice storm conditions for much of the continental U.S.

Locally, minor wind damage was reported but the flooding issue continues to cause problems. And, with heavy rains upstream, many of the local rivers and creeks have yet to crest.

For the next several days remember the adage, "turn around, don't drown."

More details on Goliath's local impact may be found in the Dec. 30 edition of the CCTD.
