Royce Theodore Garver
Royce Theodore Garver, 69, of Piggott, Ark., passed away January 7, 2016, in Memphis, Tenn. He was born on May 1, 1946, in McDougal, Ark., and was the son of the late Willis Ezra and Laverna (Read) Garver.
Royce was a member of the Army National Guard and the American Legion. He was also a member of the South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott. He retired after 30 years from Bankers Life and Casualty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lucille Garver, Kenneth Lee Garver, Dennis Dale Garver, Rex Garver, Keith Layle Garver and Billy Garver.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kimberly Woody and husband Don of Memphis, Tenn. and Stephanie Combs and husband Tim of Bells, Tenn.; a brother, Gayle Garver and wife Lynda of Piggott; nine grandchildren, Lanai Fields, Tyler Lloyd, Evan Woody, Eric Woody, Clay Combs, Alexa Combs, Ava Harris, Fred Payne and Robert Montgomery; four great-grandchildren, Shayden, Azlyn, Josiah and Kinslee; sisters-in-law Doris Garver, Sharon Garver, Brenda Guthrie and Brenda Garver and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Jeremy Pierce officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark. Pallbearers are Tyler Lloyd, Clay Combs, Fred Payne, Joseph Davis, Keith Garver and Jeffery Davis. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held beginning at noon on Saturday, and continuing until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
