Ruby Lea Latimer

Ruby Lea Latimer, 80, of Piggott, Ark., passed away January 15, 2016, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.

She was born on September 25, 1935, in Piggott, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Golden "Pete" and Lela Lavesta (Cullum) Hester.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Doyne Latimer on June 7, 1952, and to this union two children were born.

Ruby was a longtime member of the Westside Church of Christ in Piggott.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Laverne Hester, Wilma Latimer, Barbara Hester and Nancy Gilmore.

Survivors include her son, James Latimer of Piggott; a daughter, Kathy Sanders and husband Monty of Piggott; four grandchildren, Brian Sanders and wife Kristy, Brent Sanders and wife Misti, Bradlee Sanders and wife Amanda and Shawnee Latimer; seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Calab, Gavin, Gabbee, Halli, Josi and Chase; a brother, Barry Hester and wife Brenda of Rogers, Ark.; a sister, Julia Trout and husband Don of Paragould, Ark.; a lifelong friend of over 65 years, Minnie Tanner and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Scott Ruhman officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark. Pallbearers were Brad Sanders, Brent Sanders, Mark Tanner, Russ Latimer, Robert Dement and Terry Pollard. Honorary pallbearers were Brian Sanders, Mike Cook and Bob Tidwell. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
