Winter Storm Jonas Roars Eastward

Thursday, January 21, 2016

The second round of frozen precipitation of the week rolled through the region on Thursday night, but luckily Clay County avoided the brunt of the storm.

Freezing rain and sleet made up the majority of the local precipitation, and luckily amounts of the former weren't significant enough to cause wide-spread power outages.

Temperatures stabilized Friday, and were expected to warm for the coming weekend and work week ahead.

Poor road conditions did force the cancellation of school classes for the third day in a row on Friday, prompting the rescheduling of many events.
