Deborah "Debbie" Kay Carter
Deborah "Debbie" Kay Carter, 60, of Rector, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 25, 1955, to the late Arthur W. and Emma Althea Massey in Pontiac, Mich. Debbie loved her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Dexter Webb along with her sisters, Nina Fay Massey, Tommie Sue Massey, Charlotta Lucia, Norma Lou Krause, Carmeletta Massey and Carolyn Novak.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Joe "Smokey" Carter of Rector; one daughter, Jamie Simmons and husband Stephen of Rector; a stepson, Damon Carter of Paragould; her grandchildren, Sydney Simmons, Sam Simons and Sophie Simmons; her sisters, Maxine Craft, Betty Hargraves and Dorothy Hill; her brothers, Larry Massey and Wallace Massey along with a host of special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mace Straubel in charge of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Rector First United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the Rector First United Methodist Youth -- 115 West Third Street, Rector, Ark., 72461.
