The Piggott Lady Mohawks ended their season in the first round of the 3A-3 district tournament at Rivercrest Monday afternoon, dropping a 48-46 overtime loss to Osceola. A second quarter slump, and several key calls down the stretch, doomed the Tribe's effort as they fell to the Lady Seminoles for the second year in a row in the first round of district play.

The Tribe came out hot in the first quarter, and jumped to a 10-6 lead by the end of the frame. But, the Lady Seminoles responded in the second, taking the quarter 15-8, as they took a 21-18 lead into the locker room at intermission.

The Lady Mohawks battled back in the third, outscoring the Lady Seminoles 16-14 in the quarter, as they pulled to within a point, 35-34 entering the fourth quarter. Down the stretch neither team was able to gain much advantage, as the score stood tied at 43 at the end of regulation.

To say the extra frame was a low-scoring affair would be an understatement, as the two squads only combined for 8 points in overtime, with the Seminoles gaining a 5-3 advantage to set the final.

Rhodes led all scorers with 24 for the Lady Mohawks, while Devyn Staples finished with 10, MaKalia Beck had 6 and Grayson Murray finished with 5, including all three of the Piggott points in OT. Pacing the Lady Seminoles was Akeyla Barksdale with 20, including two in overtime.
