A special state championship ring presentation was held between games during Rector High School's senior night contests on Thursday, Feb. 11. The occasion was the presentation of a ring to Cougar standout Kade Scott, in recognition of his second-in-a-row 2A state golf championship.

Scott left his mark on the Cougar program all four years he was a part of the team. As a freshman he was District Champion, and was named as an All-Conference performer. His sophomore season he was district runner-up, and was chosen both All-Conference and All-State in 2A.

His junior year was a break-out season, as he won the district championship and the 2A state title, once again earning All-Conference and All-State accolades and finishing 11th in the overall state championship.

This past fall he completed his high school career with a strong senior season, finishing as district runner-up and then posting a strong showing to earn yet another 2A state championship. Scott also improved his overall finish as well, finishing sixth in the state.

In addition, he was also recognized as the fourth ranked senior in the state, and was selected for the All Arkansas Preps Golf Team by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Next fall he'll be attending Crowley's Ridge College, at Paragould, and plans to be a part of their golf team in the second year of the program's existence.

Making the presentation was Scott's coach of the last two years, Matt Mills.
