Larry D. Mobley
Larry D. Mobley, 78, of Batesville, Ark., died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at his home.
He was born on January 25, 1938, in Waukegan, Ill., to Dalton Boyd Mobley and Eidress (Morgan) Mobley.
He served as deacon of Ruddell Hill Baptist Church, where he was presented the Deacon Emeritus award on Aug. 2, 2014. He also served as alderman for the city of Batesville from 1982 until 1992. Larry loved his Savior, his family, and church but he especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Smith Mobley of Batesville; two daughters, Melisa Anderson and husband, Corky, of Bryant and Penny Neal and husband, Joe, of Batesville; four grandchildren, Clay Neal and Clark Neal both of Batesville, Jenna Smith of Benton, and Grant Anderson of Bryant; and five great-grandchildren, Cale Smith, Tessa Smith, Layton Neal, Cash Neal and Lynleigh Neal. He is also survived by two brothers, Weldon Mobley of Rector and Jim Mobley of Grain Valley, Mo. and four sisters, Betty Haley and Carla French both of Piggott, Janette Duncan of Rector and Judy Neeley of Forest City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at Ruddell Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Medley and Bro. Breck Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the service.
