The Piggott Mohawk baseball team began this year's campaign Monday afternoon at Blytheville, as they handed the non-conference Chicks a 7-4 loss. The Tribe, now in their second year under head coach David Reynolds and assistant Alan Rabjohn, hosted the Corning Bobcats Tuesday afternoon at Independence Park, and dropped a conference decision. Weather permitting they'll host the Hoxie Mustangs this Thursday, March 10.

The Mohawk baseball team extended what had been a lackluster regular season last spring with a come-from-behind win over Manila in the first round of the district tournament at Piggott. With the win the Tribe earned a spot in the 3A regional at Harrison, and a chance to advance to the state tourney.

By virtue of their fourth place finish in 3A-3, the Mohawks took on Cotter on Friday, May 8, in the regional tournament at Harrison and were eliminated by a final of 15-4.

This season they welcome back many of the components of last year's squad, and will look to a handful of talented new underclassmen as well.

The roster includes Josh Lyman, Hayden Lemmons, Elijah Bellers, Jon Jones, Quentin Reeves, Luke Boyd, Dylan Bellers, Logan Allman, Chris Wallace, Anthony Gummalauski, Noah May, Nicholas Harris, Tyler Peters, Brice Howard, Trace Stallings, Celeston Haywood, Bret Fuller, Caleb Higgins and Spencer Hardin.
