Greyhound Squads Split With BIC

The Marmaduke Lady Greyhounds pounded Buffalo Island Central, 11-0, Thursday, March 17, on BIC's diamond. Sammi Henry pitched a no-hitter to 16 batters with one error and four strikeouts.

"Sammi really pitched well and we did well as a team, but a few minor errors and mistakes will need to be fixed; so we will continue to improve," coach Rick Smith said.

Offensively, Jordan Mays was 2 for 4 with a double and three runs. Natalie Lentz was 2 or 4 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Henry was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Tabitha Hyten was 2 for 4 with a double and Bailey Bridges was 3 for 3 with a triple and three runs scored.

The Hounds are taking a week off for spring break, but will be back in action Monday, March 28, as guests at Riverside.

Baseball

The Marmaduke Greyhounds recently suffered a 17-0 baseball setback to Buffalo Island, picking up only one hit in the game.

Austin Easley started out on the mound, allowing seven hits. Jackson Lewallen came in to relieve him, giving up two hits and three runs. Offensively, Andy Risner was the only Hound to get a hit.

The Hounds will host Bay at 4 p.m. Monday, March 28.
