Greyhound Update

The Lady Greyhounds pounded the Riverside Rebels, 12-0, in softball action on the road Monday.

Sammi Henry pitched a one-hitter in five innings. Offensively, she was 2 for 3 from the plate with 2 RBIs.

Jordan Mays was 3 for 4 with a double, a triple, 3 RBIs and three runs. Natalie Shelton was 2 for 3. Natalie Lentz was 1 for 3 with 1 RBI and two runs. Bailey Bridges was 1 for 3 with a triple.

"We were 2-0 for awhile until a big hit from Mays, who had a big day," coach Rick Smith said.

The Lady Hounds played East Poinsett County yesterday at Marmaduke. "EPC had 31 hits against Marked Tree on Monday, so I think they'll be decent," Smith said.


The Marmaduke Hounds lost, 22-0, in baseball action Monday on the road against Bay.

Cody Ails started out on the mound, giving up 12 hits. Lewallen Jackson took over in the seventh, allowing one hit.

Offensively, Chad Hall had two hits, Andy Risner and Alex Donahue had a hit apiece.

"They are a hardworking bunch that are determined to get better," coach Kyle Gardner said of the Hounds' senior team. "We're trying to stay positive and learn from every mistake."
