A Piggott woman was taken by air-evac to the Med in Memphis Monday afternoon following a two vehicle crash at the two-mile-turn, east of the city. The mishap occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 62 and Highway 1, and resulted in the closure of both highways for over an hour while the victims were attended to, and the vehicles removed.

According to reports from the Clay County Sheriff's Department, the crash occurred as a GMC Envoy, being driven by Vanessa Sisneros, 28, of Piggott, pulled onto U.S. Highway 62 from Highway 1 and collided with a second vehicle. The second vehicle, a Chevrolet Tahoe, was being driven by Carla Wagster, 48, a resident of CR 347, Piggott.

Sisneros was taken from the scene by air-evac to the Med with unspecified injuries. Wagster was reportedly treated at PCH, and held for the night for observation, then released. A passenger in her vehicle, Lilly Wagster, 11, was also treated and released following the accident.
