State Baseball and Softball Titles Decided

The state softball and baseball titles were decided last weekend in Fayetteville, as champions were crowned on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

In softball, in the 7A title game Bentonville downed NLR 12-1; in 6A Sheridan beat Benton 6-0; in 5A it was Vilonia over neighbor Greenbrier 5-4 in eight innings; in 4A Mena downed Pocahontas 3-0; in 3A Bald Knob's Lady Bulldogs repeated with a 1-0 win over Rose Bud; Spring Hill beat Hector 2-1 for the 2A title and Nemo Vista got by Concord 8-7 in eight innings for the 1A crown.

In baseball, Bryant beat Conway 5-0 in the 7A championship; Jonesboro won the 6A title over Mt. Home 8-1; in 5A Magnolia beat Sylvan Hills 4-1; in 4A Shiloh Christian beat Ashdown 1-0; in 3A it was Horatio over Booneville 7-0; the 2A baseball title went to Woodlawn, as they beat Junction City 2-0. And, the Armorel Tigers beat Viola 13-1 for the 1A state baseball championship.
