Annual Piggott Fourth of July Picnic a Success

Sunday, July 3, 2016

Despite the threat of rain, conditions were excellent for the annual Piggott Fourth of July Picnic and Celebration, which wrapped-up Monday. A morning shower, and a near-constant breeze, helped cool the parade route and picnic grounds, and large crowds responded.

The day closed with the Miss Piggott Pageant, with Keragan Cunningham, 19, of Kennett selected by the judges. Aftward, the fireworks display was held, followed by the $5,000 cash drawings. This year's winners were all from Piggott, and included Kecia Howell, Billy Girtman and Debby McNeely.

The complete details, pageant photos and scenes from the picnic and parade may be found in the July 6, edition of the CCTD, and here on cctimesdemocrat.com
