Rector Region's Bank Branch to Close
The Regions Bank branch in Rector is scheduled to close by the end of October, as the location is consolidated with the Paragould main branch.
A company spokesman, Mel Campbell, verified the closure Tuesday, explaining "letters were mailed Friday to customers of the Rector branch informing them of the consolidation with the Paragould location."
Campbell, speaking from the corporate offices in Birmingham, Ala., noted the consolidation will become official on Friday, Oct. 28.
"We're consolidating the Rector branch with the Regions Bank at 1512 West Court in Paragould, and transferring all of the accounts there," Campbell explained. "But, essentially the customers will be able to do their banking there or at any of the branches. Plus, there will be no affect on their online banking, and banking by way of their mobile phone and such."
The Rector branch is located in the former Bank of Rector building and, according to Campbell, the closure will only affect a handful of employees. He noted in many instances employees are offered the opportunity to transfer to another branch, if possible.
