Veda Mae (King) Linam

Veda Mae King Linam, 91, of Benton, Ark., formerly of Rector, Ark., passed from the cares of this life on Saturday August 6, 2016, at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Bryant. She was born on March 10, 1925, in Patterson, Ark., to the late John Alexander and Charlotta (Lewis) King. She was a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church, and in her spare time enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin Linam; an infant son, Gary Gene Linam; a grandson, Jeremy Linam; a son-in-law, John Eaton; and four sisters, Beulah Surber, Irene Helms, Lillian Potts and Lucille Webb.

Veda is survived by her loving children, Ronnie and Brenna Linam of Rector, Perry and Barbara Linam of Jonesboro, Donna Eaton of Benton and Dana Ross and Jerry of Joplin; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and special friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday Aug. 8, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Aug. 9, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Bradley Linam officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
