Walter Raymond Ahrent
Walter Raymond Ahrent, 83, of Corning, Ark., passed away October 3, 2016, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born on August 14, 1933, in Corning, Ark., and was the son of the late Otto Henry and Emma (Lauchsteadt) Ahrent. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Otto Henry Ahrent, Jr. and three sisters, Minnie Garrett, Mary Alice Berry and Mildred Rigdon.
He was united in marriage to Julia Grace Moore on Feb. 4, 1961, and she survives. To this union four children were born.
Survivors include his children, Donna Couch of Corning, Diana Whittaker and husband Steven of Corning, Jennifer LaRue of Corning and Eric Ahrent and wife Casey of Knobel, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Adam Couch and wife Sarah of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Bobby Barnett of Doniphan, Mo., Jared Barnett and wife Chelsie of Doniphan, Mo., Caitlin Sullins and husband Joe of Brookland, Ark., Madison LaRue of Corning, Lucas LaRue of Corning, Michael Dowdy of Knobel and Jordan Ahrent of Knobel; five great-grandchildren, Addison, Gus and Silas Couch, Tripp Sullins and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Sadie Cait and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, with a funeral service following at 12 noon, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with John Bischof officiating. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., will be in charge of the arrangements.
