Lady Mohawk Volleyball Team in Action

The Lady Mohawks were swept by Brookland in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The junior girls fell in straight sets, 20-25, 24-26 and 4-15 in their match with the Lady Bearcats.

As for the senior girls, they lost in four sets, 15-25, 20-25, 25-22 and 10-25.

Colby Crossfield had a big night, with 22 assists and 3 digs, while Lexi Herren was 21 for 21 on receptions with 5 digs and Hannah Powell had 12 digs with 12 of 16 receptions to her credit.

Ally Kilbreath had a strong night at the net,, with 9 kills and 2 digs; Emily Trosper had 6 kills and 4 digs; Grayson Murray was 6 of 7 serving with 2 aces and Harley Earnheart had 3 kills and 3 digs to her credit.

All squads hosted CRA Tuesday evening, as the Lady Mohawks were set to "Dig Pink" in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The junior girls dropped their match, while the senior girls were victorious. Complete details may be found in the Oct. 12, print and online editions of the CCTD. They're slated to visit Ridgefield Christian on Thursday and will visit Hoxie for conference play next Monday, Oct. 10. The following day, Tuesday, Oct. 11, they'll visit Trumann and on Thursday, Oct. 13, they'll host Walnut Ridge in the final regular season match of the year. The district tourney will be played on Oct. 15, at CRA.
