An effort is currently underway to raise enough funds through donations to install dash cams in all of the patrol vehicles used by the Clay County Sheriff's Department. The effort also got a huge boost this week, as the Northeast Arkansas Rod and Gun Club made a $500 donation toward the cause.

The club is also currently selling chances on a raffle for an AR-15, with the proceeds also benefitting the dash cam project.

According to effort organizer Terry Burdin, Sr., a total of 11 units are needed. He is accepting donations on behalf of the project, with all of the proceeds going toward purchase of the units. Those wanting additional information may contact him at 618 375-1877 or mail donations to 829 East Poplar Street, Piggott, Ark., 72454.

The AR-15 is now on display at Cox Lumber Company, and chances may be purchased there or at Blue Sky Storehouse or Holland's Leasing.
