Ray Hardin, 91, of Rector, Ark., passed from this life on Wednesday November 2, 2016, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Ark. He, and his twin brother Ralph, were born on March 5, 1925, in the Fritz community. Ray spent his life farming the land of Clay and Greene Counties and was an avid fisherman. He loved to spend time with his loving family, and many friends and was of the Baptist faith.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Hollie and Cecil (Davis) Hardin; two brothers, Ralph and E.J. Hardin; a grandson, Todd Spain and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Spain.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Jean (Earl) Hardin of Rector; two sons, Mike Spain (Glenda) of Paragould and Rick Spain of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Willodean Whitaker of Rector along with by many nieces, nephews, good neighbors and friends
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 5, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel, in Rector, with Bro. Ronnie Stevens and Jerry Dortch officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will continue until service time at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector.
