Cougar Basketball Season Near

Basketball season gets into full swing next week for the Rector boys and girls programs.

The Lady Cougars open their season Monday at Gosnell with a junior high game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the senior high game to immediately follow.

The following night, four games are scheduled at Risgefield Christian. Beginning at 5 p.m., the junior girls, junior boys, senior girls and senior boys all are slated to play games against the hosts.

Then, the Cougars and Lady Cougars get to play at home.

On Thursday, the junior and senior girls are slated to play games starting at 6 p.m. at home against Maynard.

On Friday next week, the Cougars make their home debut by playing seventh-grade, junior high and senior high games against Corning, beginning at 5 p.m.

The extended schedule includes games at home against Armorel and at Maynard. On Monday, Nov. 14, the junior girls, junior boys, senior girls and senior boys all play at home starting at 4 p.m.

The following night, the seventh-grade, junior high boys and senior high boys teams play games at Maynard starting at 5 p.m.

Matt Mills is the boys basketball coach, while Matt Dean coaches the girls program.

The annual basketball preview will be published in an upcoming edition of the Clay County Times-Democrat.
