Charles Dewayne Duncan
Charles Dewayne Duncan, 84, was born March 5, 1932, in Greenway, Ark., to Thomas Allen and Maude (Graddy) Duncan. He departed this life on November 3, 2016, at St. Anthony Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., and will be interred at Jefferson Baracks Veterans Cemetery in St. Louis.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maude Duncan; his five siblings, Reba Wood, Dale Crowson, Floye Wood, Sam Duncan and Bill Duncan, and an infant daughter, Nancy Ellen Duncan.
He served his country in the United States Navy, and later in life worked in heavy construction, spending many years operating a paving machine for Fred Weber Construction. He was a member of Local Engineers Union #513.
After he retired from his work, he and his wife enjoyed fishing and traveling to Florida for many years
Dewayne loved God, and the Church of Christ, and spent many years as a minister, mostly at the Fredericktown (Missouri) Church of Christ. He loved the members of the church there, and considered them as family.
Dewayne leaves as survivors his wife, Wanda; his children, Charles A. Duncan and his wife, Rosemary; Debra Mills and her husband, Kenneth; Linda McGlawn and her husband, Wade; Cathy Sweircz and her husband, Dennis; Carol Drewes and her husband Jeff and Connie Mathias, and her husband, Alan, along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandaughter.
