CCAC Announces December Events
The Clay County Arts Council has announced two event of note scheduled during the month of December. The offerings include their annual holiday open house, and auditions for the upcoming Night of Chocolate Murdery Mystery, set for February.
The CCAC will be hosting it's annual appreciation Holiday Open House from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Sugar Creek Country Club in Piggott. Last year's holiday open house entertained about 100 guests and organizers are looking forward to another spectacular event.
Supporters of the Arts Council are invited to attend the event, purchase silent auction items and participate fully in the non-profit's programming which includes the scholarship outreach for students entering the arts fields as career choices. "This is a chance for the Arts Council Board to show our appreciation to our patrons," said event chair Cindy McComb.
The holiday event will be catered by Three Little Pigs Catering which will provide a light buffet and desserts for a gala Christmas Celebration to say "Thank You" to those who support the Clay County Arts Council.
In addition, Clay County Arts Council has announced a call for auditions for the February Night of Chocolate Murder mystery/comedy. Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, and at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, at the Rector Community Center. Gail Burns, director of the production, said, "This is also a call for stage production, ticket manager, costume and wardrobe specialists, hair and make-up designers, set construction, and more. We need volunteers to be on the stage and others to provide vital help behind the scenes."
"The mystery/comedy has become a favorite," Burns continued. "I'm looking forward to setting our rehearsal schedule to accommodate adults' various schedules. I'm excited about working with this play and our fabulous actors and actresses."
Tracy Cole, Arts Council President said, "Mark your calendars for the appreciation holiday party at Sugar Creek Country Club in Piggott on Dec. 10, and for auditions on Dec.4, and Dec. 5, at the Rector Community Center."
