Rector Community Center Hosting Craft Fair
The Rector Community Center will be buzzing with activity Saturday, Nov. 19, with the annual Fall Craft Show. The event will be going on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.
Those attending will have the chance to start their Saturday morning with a nourishing breakfast of sausage, biscuits, gravy, coffee and juice at the Rector Community Center--then, go shopping. Twenty-one booths for the Fall Crafts Extravaganza are rented and vendors will be enticing those shoppers excited about the upcoming holidays with creative crafts, fabulous gift items and unique designs.
Martha Thompson, chair of the event, said, "We're excited to announce that not only do we have a full line up, but shoppers will find returning favorites and new vendors."
Thompson mentioned several new booths, with such offerings as garden art, dry mixes for pancakes, dips, etc., and natural lotions, bath balms, plus an out-of-state vendor with individually wrapped cakes and fried pies.
Shopping is hard work, so the staff and volunteers of the Rector Community Center will be offering a delicious lunch of chili, potato soup, white beans and cornbread.
Organizers note plenty of opportunities exist to shop and to eat. "A better way to enjoy a fall Saturday would be hard to find," Thompson surmised.
Seeing friends from across the region has become another drawing card for the Rector Crafts Fair, and regular vendors from around the northeast Arkansas area always draw a big crowd.
"Get your list ready, gather your shopping friends, and shop to your heart's content," an organizer added.
