Audition call! The Clay County Arts Council has issued an audition call for all actors, actresses, wanna-be famous ones and the stage-shy from across the region. The talent is needed for their upcoming Night of Chocolate production, set for mid-February.

There will be two opportunities for area residents to try-out for parts in the play which accompanies the Night of Chocolate event, both being held at the Rector Community Center.

"Auditions will be held beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, and will also be held beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5," a spokesman for the organization noted. "Interested parties wanting to read through the play, and audition for the parts, are welcome to come to either of the audition calls."

The CCAC will hold its annual Night of Chocolate on Feb. 17, and the event for 2017 will once again include a comedic murder mystery. "No one will want to miss this show," Director Gail Burns said of the production.

She also noted a variety of other jobs will also be filled, in addition to the on-stage talent.

"Whether you can handle a small part, or a walk-on role, there's something for every volunteer," Burns added. "Perhaps your offering to the community endeavor would be work in stage construction, props, publicity or costumes."

Burns noted regardless of what they might be able to offer, volunteers are greatly needed. "Whatever your ability, you are needed and encouraged to attend the audtions at the Rector Community Center Sunday afternoon and Monday evening," she surmised.
