Lanny Lee Templeton
Lanny Lee Templeton, 68, passed away November 25, 2016, in Lexington, Ky. He was born November 17, 1948, in Piggott, Clay County, Ark., to Woodrow David and Frances (Latta) Templeton.
Lanny was the youngest of their six children. Surviving siblings are Barbara Jo (Jerry Crouch), Larry Knox (Phyllis Pettit), Robert Stanley (Susan Woods) and Annette (Robert Bell-deceased). His oldest brother, Madison Brice Templeton, passed away in 2009.
Lanny is survived by his wife, Rita Harberson Templeton; a daughter, Holly (Shane) Havens and grandson Hunter Lee Templeton; his nieces and nephews, William and Robert (deceased) Templeton, Benjamin, Christopher, Joseph and Daniel Harberson, Mariah Faulconer, Katlyn Eades along with Donald and Brooke Crouch.
A Veteran of the United States Navy (1969-1973), Lanny served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Roosevelt. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Lexington, Ky., in 1968, and then attended the University of Kentucky. Later, he enjoyed a successful career as the Purchasing Agent for Contractor Sales and Rentals in Lexington.
Graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 2, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Rev. James Heard officiating as Mr. Templeton was buried with Military Funeral Honors.
