"We are not as equipped as we have been in the past to play on back to back nights," Marmaduke head coach Rick Smith said about this team. "We had two seniors and a sophomore not play very well tonight but making no excuses, Pocahontas has a good team," Smith added. "We didn't match their intensity and you have to do that to be competitive. We don't have eight or ten girls to run in and out like we have in the past," Smith said.

Lentz led the Lady Greyhounds in scoring with six points as Mays and Htyen each scored four points. Weatherford netted three points as Johnson, Meredith, Shelton and Boggs all chipped in two points each.

Marmaduke got to the title game with a 39-38 win over top-seeded Bay. Lentz's layup with 12 seconds left turned out to be the game winner for the Lady Greyhounds. Lentz led Marmaduke in scoring with 15 points. The Lady 'Hounds got a bye in the first round, then beat Tuckerman 52-37 in the second round to advance to the showdown with the Lady Yellowjackets.
