Moria Strong, 99, of Rector, Ark., passed away December 25, 2016, at the Rector Nursing and Rehab. She was born December 30, 1916, to the late Ed and Lonia (Goins) Pinkston at Campbell, Mo. She was a strong-willed lady who spent her life caring for others.
Moria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Strong and a son, Clifford Strong.
She is survived by her children, Ronald and Karla Strong of Rector and Stella Bledsoe and her special friend, Tony Rice, of Rector; a daughter-in-law, Karon Strong of Michigan; her grandchildren, Monique and Richard Hargrave, Jasa and Michael Hollis, Candy and Charlie Alexander, Donna Pulsfer, Annette and Ron Brown, Ryan Strong, Rita and Mike Stockman, Lisa Strong and Tommy and Karen Perkins; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Jr. Pinkston of St. Louis, Mo. and a sister, Billy Fern Ward, of Michigan, along with other family members.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Irby Funeral Home in Piggott. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home, with Steven Oliver officiating. Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, St. Francis, Ark.
