Dorothy June "Dot" Parrish
Dorothy June "Dot" (Cavaness) Parrish, 77 of Marmaduke, Ark., passed from this life to her eternal home on Friday December 30, 2016, at the St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born on May 8, 1939, in Rector, to the late Raymond and Pearl (Davidson) Cavaness. She was a member of the White Oak General Baptist Church and was united in marriage to the love of her life, Allie Eugene Parrish, on Sept. 27, 1958, in a simple ceremony conducted in Rector.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Allie Eugene Parrish; three brothers, Donald Cavaness, Jerry Cavaness and Ronald Cavaness and three sisters, Fredia Midkiff, Shalla Jones and Becky Floyd.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Allie Dale Parrish and wife Vanessa of Rector and Teresa DeFries and husband Keith of Marmaduke; grandchildren, Misty and Mike Wess of Paragould, Ali Michelle and Sherry Flood of Paragould, Addie Parrish, Ashley Lucy and husband Josh of Paragould, Shana Whitaker, Derek Whitaker and Macee of Rector; great grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, Hallie, Leslea, Koner, Presley, Harper and Aubree; one brother, Raymond "Junior" Cavaness and wife Veda Mae of Rector; three sisters, Vodine Stallings and husband Neil, Narine Shields and husband Barry and Linda Parrish and husband Earl, all of Marmaduke; a special friend Betty Gramling; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loved relatives and friends.
Visitation was held beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 1, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Ernie Rinks and David Floyd officiating. Interment followed at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
